Make Scented Candles Without Essential Oils

Scented candles, especially homemade ones, are usually made with essential oils. However, they might not always be available, and you would want to make scented candles without them. Recipe 1: Vanilla Scented Candle with Soy Wax Flakes

Vanilla scented candles have an amazing aroma and can be easily found in candle shops. If you have vanilla extract at your home, it is easy to make them at home without any expensive fancy items.


Candle Making Supplies:

  • Soy Wax Flakes
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Pre Waxed Candle Wicks
  • Wooden Candle Wick Holder
  • Aluminium Candle Mould
  • Candle Thermometer

Directions:

Step 1: Take 20 ounces or more (as per the size and count of candles) of soy wax flakes. Now, melt them in a container placed within a saucepan consisting of boiling water.

Step 2: Let the wax melt completely and then stop heating. Put thermometer inside wax and once the wax reaches a temperature between 120 to 125-degree Fahrenheit, pour some vanilla extract.

Step 3: Now, insert the pre-waxed candle wicks into the candle mold (Aluminium Candle Mould or Yankee Candle Jar).

Step 4: Pour melted soy wax into candle mold (Aluminium Candle Mould or Yankee Candle Jar) carefully.

Step 5: Remember to use candle wick holder (Wooden Candle Wick Holder) to maintain candle wicks centred position.

Step 6: Use these candles after 72 hours as they need to be cured completely before use.

Recipe 2: Lavender Scented Candle with Soy Wax Flakes

Lavender Scented Candles can be made at your home without Lavender Essential Oil. However, you would need lavender extract and dried lavender flowers to make exotic and mesmerizing lavender scented candles.


Candle Making Supplies:

  • Soy Wax Flakes
  • Candle Thermometer
  • Lavender Extract
  • Crushed and Dried Lavender Flowers
  • Wooden Candle Wicks
  • Metal Candle Wick Holder
  • Yankee Candle Jar

Directions:

Step 1: Start by adding some water in a double boiler and heat it on a high flame. Place a saucepan on the top of it and put your candle wax in it.

Step 2: When the wax starts melting, stir it continuously to leave no lumps or chunks. Let the wax cool down a bit till 125-degree Fahrenheit, and then add some Lavender extract and crushed lavender petals to it.

Step 3: Now, insert the wooden candle wicks into the candle mold (Aluminium Candle Mould or Yankee Candle Jar).

Step 4: Pour melted soy wax into candle mold carefully. Don’t forget to use the wick holders to center candle wicks properly.

Step 5: Your lavender scented candles are ready and can be used after a couple of days.
